Jerry Schrader will celebrate his 80th birthday on Nov. 24 with a card shower.
Jerry was born on Thanksgiving Day on Nov. 24, 1932 in Ellinwood and grew up on a farm at Bissell’s Point. He graduated from Great Bend High School and then received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinarian Medicine degrees from Kansas State University. He is married to Yvonne and Jerry has been a wonderful mentor and step-dad to Dustin Nordman who is a pilot in the United States Air Force. Jerry’s greatest passion and satisfaction in life is to help injured and sick creatures recover with the help of God for the last 55 years. In addition to that is getting to know and work with people who have become lifelong clients and friends. He continues to practice full time at Countryside Veterinary and Associates and believes that one should continue to work as long as you still have your health and enjoy what you are doing.
