Opal A. Weaver will celebrate her 100th with an Open House from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 21 at the Cedar Park
Place gathering room. Ice cream and cake will be served in her honor. Hosts for the event will be her children, Max and JaNelda Manor of Wamego, Gene and Karen (Grounds) of Wichita, Donna Campbell of Larned, Keith and Oleta Beckwith of Great Bend, Terry and Carolyn Holland of Baton Rouge, La. and Gary and Vicki Pillard of Marysville.
Opal was born in Vale, Ark. in 1913, but spent most of her life in central Kansas. She attended high school in Claflin, and after her marriage to Lilburn P. Weaver in 1937, they resided in Holyrood, where they raised six children. Opal has 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. In 2000, she moved to Cedar Park Place in Great Bend, where she enjoys visiting with friends and playing dominos and bingo.
