Jon and ArNell Briel celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 17, 2019. The couple celebrated with a family trip to Colorado in late July. Jon Briel and ArNell Essmiller were united in marriage on Aug. 17, 1969, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Bend. Both K-State graduates, Jon is managing veterinarian at Ark Valley Veterinary Hospital. ArNell is a former French teacher, has been a legal assistant for 43 years, and is billing manager at Watkins Calcara, Chtd. The couple have two daughters, Wendy Sundahl and husband Shane, Larned, and Hayley Dicks and husband Shane, Great Bend; and four grandchildren, Dalton and Parker Dicks, and Slade and Darby Sundahl.
