Claflin Lions Club members will be selling tickets for their Annual Seafood Buffet now through March 16. The menu for the evening will include all you can eat servings of three different types of fish, shrimp, frog legs, crab salad, scalloped potatoes, vegetables, bread, coffee or tea.
Lions Club members will also be accepting donations of old eyeglasses, hearing aids, bicycles and bicycle parts. The eyeglasses and hearing aids are taken to a sorting facility in Texas and eventually sent to developing countries for distribution, the bicycles and parts are taken to the Ellsworth Correctional Facility for the Bicycle Recycle Program. Bring bikes and parts to the event and inquire at the ticket table for help with unloading. The eyeglasses and hearing aids can be dropped off at the ticket table.
Net proceeds from the Annual Seafood Buffet are used for Claflin area events and activities such as: The Claflin Area Pride Nativity, Annual Claflin Easter Egg Hunt in the city park, Central Plains Scholarship Program, the purchase of a new time clock in the Central Plains High school gym, new “Welcome to Claflin” signs, the purchase of eyeglasses for the needy, and many other local events.
