DAR chapter hears about wagon trains

The Fort Larned Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution met at 2 p.m. May 8 at Brenda Van Meter’s home.
Certificates were received for Women’s Issues Committee, 10 Flag Minutes, American Heritage, Flag Events, Constitution Week Participation and Members who Assisted with Naturalization Classes.
Brenda presented a program on wagon trains and the hardships they encountered along the way. Brenda’s husband showed his collection of arrowheads. Brenda served “Cobbler on The Trail” with refreshments.
On June 12 the club will be departing from Jordaan Memorial Library for a road trip through Pawnee and Edwards counties visiting DAR markers on the Sante Fe Trail. Lunch will be in Kinsley.
