LARNED — The Larned VFW Auxiliary held their monthly meeting on the second Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. at the Post home. Rita Kurtz presided.
Karen Gilkey gave the treasurer’s report. Tammy Mayse gave the opening.
At the last Seventh District Convention, the Larned VFW Auxiliary was awarded the following: Outstanding Veterans’ and Family Support, for participation in the Voice of Democracy program, participation in the Patriot’s Pen Award, and for participation in Americanism. Karen Gilkey was also recognized with a certificate for her dedicated efforts and loyal service.
It was decided to donate $100 to the Summer Food Buddies Program.
The March card party was well-attended. From the proceeds, fifty dollars will be donated to the local Sheriff’s K-9 food fund.
The last card party of the year is scheduled Monday. April 24.
