League of Women Voters of Great Bend will hold the monthly meeting at noon on Tuesday, at Montana Mike’s in the north room. Lunch will be from the menu and can be from their “quick serve” menu.
The program will be provided by Elaine Simmons from Barton Community College who will be speaking on career technical education. The college works with facilities such as Ellsworth detention center aiding inmates to receive their GED’s and other technical training. They have many students, and the work is challenging. They cover many other facets of technical training. Come learn about all of the opportunities they offer people who need a trade and education. Audience participation is encouraged and time will be allowed for questions from the floor. Lunch is informal and guests are always welcome.
League is a non-partisan organization devoted to informing and educating the voting public on national, state, and local issues of importance. Membership is open to both men and women. League can be accessed on the web at http://lwvofgb.wordpress.com. The public is invited to attend.
