League of Women Voters of Great Bend will hold the monthly meeting at noon on Tuesday at Classic Inn. Lunch will be from the buffet or the menu.
The program will be given by Heather Smith from the police department. She will be discussing teenagers and the inappropriate use and abuse of the internet. While the internet has been a positive force for connections, education, and any type of information, it also can have unexpected consequences that cause many social problems. They do not understand the long term effects of putting too much personal information on social media. If you have questions about social media and its effects on teenagers, come join the League for lunch. The public may attend and time will be allowed from the floor for questions and comments.
All League members are encouraged to attend and participate. League is a non-partisan organization devoted to informing and educating the voting public on national, state, and local issues of importance. Membership is open to both men and women. League can be accessed on the web at http://lwvogb.wordpress.com.
