The City of Great Bend’s Community Coordinator, Christina Hayes, will provide an update on promotions being planned for the upcoming holiday season at the November meeting of the League of Women Voters. The luncheon meeting will be held over the noon hour on Nov. 12, in the north room of Montana Mike’s, 906 McKinley.
As Community Coordinator, Ms. Hayes works with local retailers and organizations to promote Great Bend and present the best that our community has to offer both residents and visitors. November has been designated as “Explore Great Bend” month and this festive time of year will include a unique blend of shopping, promotions, entertainment, and the opportunity to win a $1,000 prize to promote spending in local businesses. Ms. Hayes points out that “Great Bend has an amazing collection of shopping and entertainment, some just forget or have been shy about getting out there and experiencing it. Explore Great Bend month was created to help give incentive for those who haven’t tried out what Great Bend has to offer before they leave town for holiday shopping.”
The public is invited and encouraged to attend. The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
