Parnassus Club held their annual piano and voice auditions on March 1 at the Barton Community College Fine Arts Building. Twenty-three piano and voice students participated in the auditions open to all Barton County music students. The voice students perform two art songs memorized and piano students perform one memorized solo for an adjudicator who then writes an evaluation of the student’s performance and gives awards in both the Junior category,(6th grade through 8th grade) and senior division (high school). The adjudicator for both voice and piano was Ms. Tiffiney Harms, McPherson College music instructor.
In the Junior piano division, BrayLynn Anschutz received 1st place and Emma Bieker received 2nd place awards. The Junior voice division awards went to Katherine Snapp, first place, and Hadley Murphy, 2nd place.
Senior piano division, awards were given to Melanie Maneth,  first place, Hannah Wilborn, second place and Kaylyn Oberle, third place.
Senior voice division awards were given to Sarah Keller, first place, Shinee Hughes, second place, and Erin Bowers, 3rd place.
Teachers entering students in the auditions include, Betty Erikson, Glenna Gaunt, Darlene Boley, Karole Erikson and Lorrie Stickney.
