Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir will be the guest speaker when the League of Women Voters of Great Bend meets at noon Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the Classic Inn Restaurant. Lunch will be available from the buffet or menu.
Bellendir will discuss the crime rate in Barton County, the nature of the crimes, and what is being done to combat them. He will address law enforcement problems in general and the rising threat to life that officers face every day. Questions and comments will be allowed from the floor.
Meetings are open to the public. League is a non-partisan organization devoted to informing and educating the voting public on national, state and local issues of importance. Membership is open to men and women.
