WICHITA — Registration is now open for the third-annual Thin Mint Sprint 5K Run/Walk & Cookie Relay on April 16 in Wichita that will benefit Girl Scouts in 80 Kansas counties.
People of all ages and abilities are invited to join “Team Girl Scouts” by participating in this unique event supporting Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland. The Thin Mint Sprint 5K Run/Walk starts at 8:30 a.m. April 16 at the council’s headquarters, 360 Lexington Road in Wichita, and awards will be given out at 9:30 a.m. The Cookie Relay – a 600-yard course complete with Girl Scout Cookie obstacles – starts at 10 a.m.
The public can register on kansasgirlscouts.org for just $30 through March 15, $35 through April 15, or $40 on race day. Girl Scout girl members can register for the 5K for just $15. The Cookie Relay is $20 for a team of four, so invite your friends to help you conquer the “Minute to Win It”-style cookie obstacles! All 5K participants receive a Thin Mint Sprint T-shirt, a box of Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies, and post-race refreshments (cookies included). Girl Scouts can also earn a Thin Mint Sprint patch. There will be additional activities in the Family Fun Zone near the start/finish area at the event. All proceeds go toward continuing the Girl Scout mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.
