Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3111, and its Ladies Auxiliary, met on May 31 at the Post Home.
A joint memorial service was held in memory of the deceased Post and Auxiliary members of 2010-2011.
The charter was draped in memory of Mildred Elliott and Shirley Peters.
Americanism chairperson, Thelma Hipp, gave a report on the flag etiquette program to the third grade students on April 27 through May 9. This program was co-sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 180 in observance of May 1, Loyalty Day.
The Post and Auxiliary were represented in the Memorial Day services held at Veterans Circle in the Great Bend Cemetery to honor those who died on land and at the Arkansas River bridge to honor those who died at sea.
The Department of Kansas Post and Auxiliary convention was held in Great Bend on June 3-5.
On July 15-17 the Midsummer Council of Administration meeting and Department School of Instruction will be held in Salina.
The next meeting will be held on June 28 at the Post Home.
