Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3111 and its Ladies Auxiliary met on Aug. 24 at the Post Home.
The charter was draped in memory of Margaret Archer.
There will be a flag burning ceremony at the Post on Sept. 18. Anyone having faded and torn flags that cannot be repaired can bring them to the Post.
There will be a blood drive at the Post in September. Anyone wishing to give blood should be at the Post on Sept. 24. The need for blood donors is constant. We need volunteers from the Auxiliary and Post to help with this project.
Remember to fly your flag on Sept. 6,Labor Day; Patriot Day fly the flag at half-staffed from sunrise to sunset; Sept. 17, POW/MIA Recognition Day; and Sept. 26, Gold Star Mother’s Day.
The 7th District VFW Post and Auxiliary Fall conference will be held on Oct. 10 in Kingman.
The next meeting will be on Sept. 28 honoring our Gold Star Mothers. There will also be inspection by 7th District President Diane Hill of Ellinwood Auxiliary 5657.
