Cozy Crafts open to all ages

Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! Don’t forget we have our all-ages weekend event, Cozy Crafts, Saturday at 11 am. Each participant will be able to make a fun Boho Wall Art piece to brighten up their space.

March is already here, and that means we are offering a new Spice of the Month. Come and get your pre-measured amount of paprika, along with a recipe to try and some interesting information about the spice.

For the kiddies this week we will start off the week with a visit from our new friend Robby Wilcox. This time he will be here to teach children grades 4-6 how programming works. They will learn programming through physical means, make a video game, and learn Minecraft programming. If you have a tech-savvy youngster, be sure to bring them to the library on Monday, March 6 at 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday we will not only have Story Time as usual starting at 10:30 a.m., but we will also have You Day Tuesday with Shanna Long from the Center for Counseling at 3:30 p.m. She will teach us how to work on self-regulation, calming, relaxing, and mindfulness skills while utilizing games, crafts, and more.

Alongside our usual all-ages events, such as Tech Tuesday at 11 a.m. and Crochet club on Thursday at 4 p.m., we also have a special Genealogy Corner happening on Tuesday at 6 p.m. This installment will focus on HeritageQuest, a free program available through the Kansas State Library. We will take an in-depth look at the program and learn how to use it to conduct genealogy research.

Last but not least, our next adult craft is this coming Thursday, March 9, at 6 p.m. This time we will be making Cork Succulents. A reminder, this is an after-hours event, so remember to be here before 6:15 when we lock the north doors for the duration of the class.
