Dan Altman of Orlando, Fla. and Kristine Mathers Altman of Maitland, Fla., announce the engagement of their daughter, Staci Altman, to Steve Nekic, son of Debbi and Frank Nekic of St. Joseph, Mich. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Darlene Mathers of Great Bend, and the late Robert R. Mathers.
The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of the University of Kansas with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a 2012 graduate of Rush University in Chicago with a master’s degree in Nursing. She is employed as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
The prospective groom is a 2001 graduate of the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He is employed by the Whirlpool Corporation in the Chicago area.
The  wedding is planned for May 31, in Kansas City, Mo.
