Michael and Pamela Perry of Great Bend and Toby Bettis of Wilsonville, Ore. announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Bettis to Cameron Cooper, son of Scott and Terri Cooper of Garnett. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Gloria and Linus Schamber and Harold and Margaret Bettis, all of Hays; Vernon and Karen Hayes of Great Bend and the late Coyle and Carla Detherage, and Dale Perry; and the great-granddaughter of Norma Mounkes, all of Great Bend. The prospective groom is the grandson of Jim and June Cooper of Garnett and Rosalie Burkhead of Lawrence and the late Dean Burkhead.
The bride elect is a 2008 graduate of Great Bend High School. In 2012 she graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. In May 2015, she graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She is employed with the Early Childhood Special Education program in Paola.
The prospective groom is a 2006 graduate of Anderson County High School. In 2010 he graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. He is employed as an Assistant Vice President at Patriots Bank.
The wedding is planned for Dec. 12, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Kansas City, Mo.
