Wayne and Sondra Davis of St. John announce the engagement of their daughter, Shelby Elaine, to Trey Michael Poncin, son of Marlyn and Diane Poncin of Great Bend. Grandparents of the bride-elect are Arlyn and Beth McGuire of Stafford, Gilbert and Phyllis Davis of Arthur, Iowa and the late Gwynetha Glen. Great-grandmother is Louise Gould of Pratt. Grandparents of the prospective groom are Bernie and Florence Poncin of Lyons and Marshall and Pat Ross of Rock Island, Ill., formerly of Lyons.
The bride-elect is a 2013 graduate of St. John High School. She will attend Barton Community College in the fall. She is employed at Larned State Hospital.
The prospective groom is a 2009 graduate of Great Bend High School. He is employed at Midcon Oil Tools in Great Bend.
The wedding is planned for Aug. 3 at Foundry Methodist Church in Great Bend.
