Eric and Janet Dowson and Rob and Jenifer VanSkike announce the engagement of their children Amanda Dawn Dowson and Todd Preston VanSkike, all of Great Bend. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Charles and Eleanor Rindt of Salina and Dean Dowson of Sutherland, Neb.  The prospective groom is the grandson of Dale and Joann George of Albert and William and Grace VanSkike of Great Bend and the great-grandson of William George of Erie.
The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Great Bend High School. She attends Barton Community College. She is employed at CPI Qualified Plan Consultants in Great Bend.
The prospective groom is a 2008 graduate of Great Bend High School. He is employed at the Golden Belt Bicycle Company in Great Bend.
The wedding is planned for Oct. 16 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Bend.
