Scott and Julie Horinek of Salina and Shelley Horinek of Andover announce the engagement of their daughter Sara Beth Horinek to Mathew Allen Sander, son of Glen and Becky Sander of Great Bend. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ron and Janet Horinek of Phillipsburg, Lefty and Joy Wolfe of Hastings, Neb., the late Mary C. Horinek, and the late William “Eddie” Givens.  The prospective groom is the grandson of Gilbert and Kathleen Sander and Louie Wintholz, all of Great Bend, and the late Phyllis Wintholz.
The bride-elect is a 2001 graduate of Phillipsburg High School. She graduated from Wichita State University and Friends University. She is a 5th grade teacher for Andover Public Schools.
The prospective groom is a 2000 graduate of Great Bend High School. He graduated from Barton Community College and attended Wichita State University. He is employed as a premises technician for AT&T in Wichita.
The wedding is planned for May 31, at the Church of the Magdalen in Wichita.
