Paul and Gerry Schartz announce the engagement of their daughter Melissa Schartz, to Jacob Puetz, son of Brad and Julie Puetz.
The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Claflin High School. She graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She is employed as a Kindergarten teacher at the Wichita Public Schools.
The prospective groom is a 2009 graduate of Garden Plain High School. He graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Management Information Systems. He is employed by KOCH Minerals in Wichita as a Business Systems Analyst.
The wedding is planned for May 14, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Claflin.
