Great Bend Public Library plans for 2023
Book Nook.jpg

Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! Christmas is just a few days away, so we wanted to remind you of our upcoming holiday closures. For Christmas, we will be closed starting today, Friday, Dec. 23, through Monday, Dec. 26. We will reopen Tuesday, December 27, at our normal time of 9 a.m. Similarly, we will be closed for New Year’s starting Friday, Dec. 30, through Monday, Jan. 2. We will reopen Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 9 a.m.

If you haven’t already, be sure to stop by when we reopen on Tuesday to grab a copy of our newsletter. This new events catalog has all of our programming from January through May. It’s never too early to start planning, so be sure to grab a newsletter so you don’t miss a single event!

With our upcoming holiday closures, now is a perfect time to take advantage of our digital services, Hoopla and Libby, services offered through your Great Bend Public Library card. Those traveling this weekend, wrapping gifts late into the night, or looking for some quiet time between events, can check out our vast selection of audiobooks offered through both apps. Libby has thousands of ebooks and audiobooks you can borrow with no limit. Hoopla offers thousands of audiobooks as well as ebooks, comics, music, movies, and even TV shows. With Hoopla you get six monthly checkouts and no waitlist. So while the library may be closed, Hoopla and Libby are always open (even at 2 o’clock in the morning when you can’t sleep in anticipation of Santa coming).

On behalf of the entire staff, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! For library events, visit our Facebook and our website, greatbendpl.info. You can also message us on Facebook, email us at gbcirc@gmail.com, or give us a call at 620-792-2409 for any questions about our programming or services.
