Student Library Assistant Madison Dombroski will be focusing on different Ellinwood High School seniors throughout the year to spotlight, and this will be featured in our Check It Out column. Today we have two Senior Spotlights, Phillip Penner and Adam Hayes.
Phillip Penner is a senior at EHS. His family members are mother Kelli Penner and father Christopher Stromski. Phillip would recommend the book the Bible because it changed his life and can change yours. His favorite quote is “Giving up on your goals because of one setback, is like slashing all four of your tires because one is flat,” by Dolamar Cross.
Something that Phillip learned from other students is that people don’t have to be from your parents to be your family. His advice for incoming students is stop worrying what others think about and don’t let them decide your life; it’s called your life for a reason. Phillip’s plan after graduation is to go to trade school, become a certified electrician, and hopefully one day own his own business. We wish Phillip a great year in his senior chapter!
Adam Hayes is a senior at EHS. His family members are parents Glennda French and Jimmy Hayes, siblings are Jacob, Ethan, Zaid, Tyler, and he has eight nieces and nephews. He would recommend one of the “I Survive” books, since they are short and have good stories. Adam’s favorite quote is “I love my mama,” by Bobby Bushay.
His favorite teacher is Mrs. Fischer because she is fun, and has food. His favorite class is one that he takes at Barton Community College which is a plumbing class. Adam’s advice for incoming students is to take as many CTE classes at Barton as you can. We wish Adam a great year in his senior chapter!
