Check it Out

Student Library Assistant Madison Dombroski focuses on Ellinwood High School seniors throughout the year to spotlight in our Check It Out column. Today we have two  Senior Spotlights: Jonas Kern and Julie Antoniani.

Jonas is a senior at EHS. His family members include his mom, dad, Russell, and Maggie. Jonas would recommend the book “Mistborn: The Final Empire,” by Brandon Sanderson, because it is a really cool book that has cool magic in it.

His favorite quote is “Don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” – Matthew 6:34.

Jonas’s favorite class is photography, because he likes taking pictures of things. Something you may be surprised to know about Jonas, is he is passionate about wealth in knowledge; the more you know about anything the better it will be. Jonas’s plan after graduation is to go to Fort Hays State and study to be a Secondary Ed. Science Teacher. We wish Jonas a great year in his senior chapter!

Julie is a senior at EHS. Her family is Rose-Marie Antoniani, Guillaume Antoniani, and her three dogs, Pitchounette, Uska and Urann. Julie would recommend the book “A Brief History of Time” by Stephen Hawking, because it is about a scientist who explains a lot of things about the universe and who has a sad history from his disease.

Her favorite quote is “Si tes rêves ne t’effraient pas, c’est qu’ils ne sont pas assez grands” which means, “If your dreams don’t scare you, that’s because they’re not big enough.” A cause she is passionate about is aviation; she loves everything about airplanes and she is a pilot. Her greatest challenge has been to come here, in Ellinwood, as an exchange student for one year. Julie’s plan after graduation is to go to a pilot school in France to become an airline pilot. We wish Julie a great year in her senior chapter!
