Mary Frances Hogg

The public is invited to attend a celebration honoring Mary Frances Hogg, who has been a League of Women Voters member for over 50 years, at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the Great Bend Senior Center. Light refreshments will be served.

Mrs. Hogg recently moved to the Brookdale assisted living home two months ago. At 87 years old, she is transferring her membership from the Salina to the Great Bend League. She and her husband, Wilbur, Sr. spent most of their married life in Ellinwood where she taught at the elementary school and worked as a librarian. In 1969 Mary Frances became the reference librarian at what was then Barton County Community Junior College, retiring in 1995.

Other highlights of her life will be recounted that evening.

Information about the local League’s activities will also be shared that night including their 2023 Legislative Priorities.

The League is a grassroots, volunteer, non-partisan political organization with nine local Leagues across the state. Membership is open to men, women, and students of 16 years of age. For more information contact League president, Janice Walker, at 620-617-4568.
