I truly believed that when school was out, things would slow down in the library. Silly me! I am very thankful for Julie and Michele and all of their time and talents that they contribute each day, as well as, Barbara Clawson and Amy Hammeke for helping us out this summer in the evenings!
Last Wednesday, ESCL hosted the Watch Party from CKLS for my new director Apple Training. Thursday, we held an ice cream AR party for 2nd and 4th graders that was piloted during the last nine-weeks of the school year. Friday, CKLS came to assist us with a whirlwind weeding of our reference section of the library. While they completed their part of this process, we will be continuing with shifting, moving, and following through with other recommendations. Friday night, we hosted the Ellinwood June Jaunt movie night. Thanks to Ryan Koetter, Tyson Revell, and Cody Woodruff for all of their work setting up and taking down the inflatable screen, and to the St. Joseph’s youth group for providing the concession stands!
This week is the beginning of our Summer Library Program, with “Every Hero has a Story” as the theme. Shatlyn Thomas has amazing activities planned for our 141 participants! Stop in and see the awesome Bat Cave, Superman’s Phone Booth, and all the decorations that Shatlyn, her family, Michele, and Julie have prepared to get kids excited about reading!
