Minister Burgess built this treehouse in Tennessee as a place where people could come and live out childhood fantasies of having their own special refuge in the woods. The treehouse is 97 feet tall and has 80 rooms, including a bell tower, basketball hoop and chapel.
Minister Burgess wasn't exactly an architect or an engineer, and he built the tree house a bit haphazardly. Because of that, the Tennessee fire marshal closed down the tree house because it was a fire hazard.
That means you can cancel your trip to Tennessee because you can't get to this majestic haven anymore. I guess you could still go and get some wicked-good BBQ and listen to some great music, but without the treehouse it might feel hollow.
