THE WHEEL We all have one or two impressively graceful moments that no other soul on the planet witnesses. We also have spectacularly ungraceful moments that are for some reason accomplished in front of a large crowd and often caught on camera.

There was the moment when I was 7 and landed a gnarly jump on my Huffy where I got at least 8 feet of air. And no one can say otherwise because not a soul saw it. However, the time I attempted a backflip on a beach in Hawaii with the help of a few other guys and all I did was land on my head, don't you worry, everyone, including the girl I was trying to impress at the time, saw the whole thing unfold. Probably in slow motion.

What I'm getting at is the fact that I feel for the little hamster in this video. The furry fella was just trying to have some fun with his hamster buddies and get some cardio in on the coveted hamster wheel. But instead of a solid workout, this hamster just got worked.

The little guy holds on for dear life for a few seconds, but that's all he's got. Soon he's on the spin cycle and then he finds a little refuge and I don't know if I've ever seen a more terrified face on any living thing since I caught my reflection on the crystal clear water of Hawaii before I face-planted in the white sandy beach. How's that for poetic?

Anyway, I want to adopt this hamster, because I know how he feels and I'm pretty sure we're kindred spirits. Keep hanging on, little dude. Keep hanging on.
