CEREBRUM When I was in elementary school, my family accompanied my dad on a business trip to Las Vegas.
Visiting for the first time, there was so much sensory overload on the Strip between the lights, dancing girls and general decadent atmosphere. My undeveloped brain had a difficult time absorbing it all.
Through a week of indoor roller coaster rides and visiting hotels modeled after the manmade wonders of the world, my favorite experience was watching illusions being performed inside of a casino magic shop. We spent hours watching the resident magician perform slight-of-hand tricks. While I dont remember the specific reveals other than they involved small silver cups, coins and a classic deck of cards, Ill never forget that feeling of being truly mystified and enthralled by it all.
Some of those same feelings rushed back to me when I watched the latest video from brusspup, a YouTuber whose first anamorphic illusions video garnered more than 27 million views!
The images in the video will fool your senses and youll find yourself questioning everything you thought was real. Are we in the matrix? What is life?!
A fun exercise is to stop the video before the reveal and see if you can guess which part of the image is a real 3D object and which isnt as it seems.
