Happy Friday from the Great Bend Public Library. We have started our fall events and have some awesome things in store for everyone.

On Monday, Sept. 11, there will be Crochet @ the Library at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.. At 4 p.m. there will be Innovation Station in the Childrens Department and a Teen Study Session in the Teen Department.
On Tuesday, at 9:30 a.m. there will be a Baby Bounce Story time. At 10:30 a.m. there will be a Toddler Storytime. At 3 p.m. there will be a Computer Basics class for Tech Tuesday.
On Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. there will be a Bi-Lingual Storytime. At 4 p.m. there will be a Teen Movie in the Teen Spot.
On Thursday, there will be an Adult’s Night Out Craft at 6 p.m. and a Teen Craft at 6 p.m. as well. The 3 p.m. Crochet @ the Library Class has been cancelled for that day only.
On Friday, Sept. 15, there will be a Pre-school Storytime at 10:30 a.m.
Childrens Department would like to give a shout out about the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. We are having a special Storytime on Sept. 19 at 10:30 a.m. After the Storytime anyone who has a child under 5 that lives in the 67530 zip code can sign them up for a free book each month until they reach the age of 5. We are really excited to partner with the United Way for this wonderful program and want to let people know that they have to come in and sign up in person and they can only sign up starting Sept. 19.
We are also accepting Donations for the Kiwanis Costume Drive. Bring in your gently used costumes and drop them off in the Children’s Area or at the Welcome desk.
The Crochet Club is finishing up making infant hats. We have already reached our goal of 150 but we would like to make even more. We will be sending out the hats to the Kansas Children’s Service League and to Great Bend Regional Hospital to be distributed. If you would like to help we have free patterns and kits available for a suggested donation of $5. Pick up a kit or set of patterns and get started today.
