It just seems like this month is flying by. We have had so many events happen recently and it has just been amazing what we have accomplished here at the Great Bend Public Library.
At the end of September we sent off 153 Crocheted and Knitted infant hats for the The Kansas Childrens Service League.
The first week of October kicked off our 1 District 1 Book Nights at the Library for grades K-6. The kids got to build and devour a delicious banana boat and got to meet and learn about animals with Pam Martin from The Cheyenne Bottoms Wetlands Education Center. We had over 90 kids attend.
This past week we had our Friends of the Library Book Sale that started on Sunday Oct. 8 and ended on Wednesday, Oct. 12. We are thrilled that so many items found a good home this past week.
We also were proud to host the Relay for Life bake Sale at the same time to help raise money for this wonderful cause.
Next up, we are collecting Costumes for our Costume Drive on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 1-3 p.m. Please drop them off at the front desk.
If you missed the book sale you can always come in and check out our small bookstore that we have in the library across from the welcome desk. We also have a wide variety of new items in so come over and check a few out.
