Although the first two seasons of T.J. Hooker have been on DVD for more than a decade, the rest of the five-season series has been in limbo, until now.

T.J. Hooker: The Complete Series (Shout!, 1982-86, 21 discs, 91 episodes). More than a decade after Star Trek, William Shatner had his second hit series with this police procedural that is fairly typical of the era. He stars as the altruistic title character, a divorced plain-clothes detective in a fictionalized version of the Los Angeles County Police Department.

After his partner is killed, Hooker returns to uniformed beat-cop duty to help clean up the streets, and hes partnered with a young hot-head (Adrian Zmed). Beginning in the second season, they often work in tandem with two other officers (Heather Locklear and James Darren). Guests include Sharon Stone, Delta Burke, Jim Brown, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elizabeth Pea, Vanessa Williams and Shatners old Star Trek friend, Leonard Nimoy.

Underground: Season Two (Sony, 2017, three discs, 10 episodes, deleted scenes, bloopers). With the Civil War about to begin, the slaves that are on the run and those left behind adjust uncomfortably to their respective worlds in this tough period drama. The ensemble cast is led by Jurnee Smollett-Bell and Aldis Hodge, and theres jarringly anachronistic music. Harriet Tubman is characterized this season. (This WGN America series has been canceled.)

Shooter: Season One (Universal, 2016-17, two discs, 10 episodes, featurette). Ryan Phillippe is a former Marine sniper lured out of retirement by the Secret Service to protect the president, but hes set up as the fall guy when a visiting president of another nation takes a bullet. This is a remake of a 2007 Mark Wahlberg movie, and Wahlberg is a co-executive producer. (The second season is now showing on the USA cable channel).

Rake: Series 2 (Acorn, 2012, three discs, eight episodes, featurettes, bloopers). Self-destructive charmer Cleaver Green (Richard Roxburgh), an Australian attorney, is back for a second season of this amusing dysfunctional crime show. In the first episode, Toni Collette guests as the wife of the powerful attorney general, so, naturally, Cleaver begins an affair with her. Jack Thompson makes an appearance in the second episode. (The third and fourth seasons have aired in Australia.)

Adventure Time: The Complete Seventh Season (CN/Warner, 2015-16, three discs, 25 episodes, mini episodes, featurettes, song demos, art galleries). This animated Cartoon Network series, aimed at teens and young adults, relates the further adventures of human boy Finn and his adopted brother Jake, a magical dog, as they navigate the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo. Included are the stop-motion episode Bad Jubies, and an eight-episode miniseries, Stakes. (The eighth season has already aired; the ninth and final season is on the Cartoon Network now.)
