LARNED — Members of the Alpha Kappa Master chapter met on Aug. 31, for Beginning Day with president Connie Carlton. After a light salad luncheon, members met informally with unfinished business from the previous year as well as new business. 

The recommendation from the executive board was received and voted to continue the budget at the same amount as last year. Unfinished business was met for a Mother’s Day tribute and gift for each member in honor of their mothers and the program of the year was awarded to Wadonna King. Announcements included that the chapter will collect new teddy bears until November to be used in a local preschool.

The next regular meeting will be in the home of Janet Skelton at 2 p.m. on Sept. 14.
