Ellinwood Student Library Assistant Gracyn Dombroski will be focusing on different seniors throughout the year to spotlight, and this will be featured in our Check It Out column. Today we have two Senior Spotlights. Today’s Senior Spotlights are Jonathon Mason and Mason Moore.
Jonathon is a senior at EHS. His family members include his mother Donna Mason; sisters, Carley Wells, Jessica Hoffman, Erica Manning, Becky Elson. Jonathon’s favorite book is “The Moscow Rules” because it tells a really interesting story about how spies functioned during the Cold War. As a person who loves history it is right up his alley. His favorite quote is, “If you are going through hell, keep going.” –Winston Churchill. Jonathon’s favorite teacher has to be Mr. Wittenberg, “because I think he teaches me something more important than just science. He teaches me how to ask questions and think critically.”
Jonathon’s plan for after graduation is to find a college where he will be able to pursue his passions in football and history. His advice for incoming students is that there will always be hard times. You can’t let the hard times define who you are and what your goals are. We wish Jonathon a great year in his senior chapter!
Mason is a senior at EHS. His family members are Troy Moore, Elissa Moore, Kyndal Moore, Blayre Moore, and Henry Moore. His favorite book is the Bible, because it’s all you need. His favorite quote is, “Never say never, because limits, like fears, are often just an illusion.” – Michael Jordan.
Mason’s favorite class is REC sports because he gets to play basketball all the time. Mason is involved in sports: basketball, football, golf; clubs: FCA, FBLA, NHS. Mason’s favorite teacher is Mr. Moore, because he teaches them what they will use later in life. We wish Mason a great year in his senior chapter.
