Peterson graduates from KHP academy

The Kansas Highway Patrol announces that Trooper Trainee Hunter Peterson graduated from the Kansas Highway Patrol Training Academy on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025. He will be stationed in Crawford County with Troop H.  Trooper Peterson was a member of KHP Recruit Class #74 and began his training with the Patrol on Aug. 5, 2025. Following graduation, he will complete 16 weeks of field training under the supervision of Master Troopers Smith and Reddy, Troop H. 

A native of Great Bend, Trooper Peterson is a graduate of Great Bend High School. He attended Pittsburg State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in communication. Prior to joining the Patrol, he worked as a News Photographer for KOAM TV in Pittsburg, and served as a Corporal for the Pittsburg Police Department.  The Kansas Highway Patrol congratulates Trooper Peterson on his graduation and wishes him success in his new position.
