The Pilot Club of Great Bend recently installed its new executive board for 2020-2021 year and initiated its newest member, Ruthann Friedrich.
Newly installed President Rhonda Knudson said, “The COVID-19 Pandemic has created real challenges in our operation as a service organization, but the club is determined to continue its mission to improve the quality of life in our community.”
Pilot international is an international civic organization established in 1921 with a focus on education and support and prevention of brain-related disorders and injuries of all types. The mission of Pilot International is to influence positive change in communities throughout the world. To do this, the club comes together in friendship and give people an outlet for service. The club focuses on preparing youth and young adults for service; encouraging brain safety and health; supporting those who care for others. Great Bend Pilot members annually sponsor and support the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, plans workshops and programs on Autism, use their award winning BrainMinders program to teach brain injury prevention to youth and seniors and sponsor and donate to other community activities and programs.
Great Bend Pilot club has for 33 years been an active and educational resource in the community. Great Bend Pilot as a club in the coming year has several projects to aid and support the community while still remain vigilant and acting responsibly with regards to the Pandemic and societal restrictions keeping our members and those they serve safe.
