Happy Thursday from the Great Bend Public Library! Christmas is almost here, I can hardly believe it. I hope everyone is ready but if you need any last minute gifts for the bookworms in your life, our Friends of the Library Book Store is always open. The library will be closed starting Saturday the 23rd through Christmas day. We will reopen for regular hours on Tuesday the 26th. Because of the holiday, we don’t have a whole lot going on at the library this week but we do have a few events starting today with the Crochet Club meeting at their regular time of 4 p.m. Then the Manga and Anime Club is meeting this evening at 5:30 p.m. Since we are meeting right before the holiday break we will have a laid back meeting enjoying the movie “A Whisker Away” and some delicious popcorn.
On Tuesday, don’t forget about Tech Tuesday at 11 a.m. for any help you might need with your new techy Christmas presents. That’s about it for us as far as events go but don’t forget to come in and grab those last minute holiday reads or your favorite Christmas movie before we close Friday evening. And don’t forget, while we are closed our apps like Libby and hoopla are always open, to grab an audiobook for that road trip to the in-laws or maybe a comic to keep the kids distracted while they wait for the Christmas cookies to cool off.
Lastly, I wanted to remind everyone once again about our Library Giving Tree. If you would like to be a library angel and help us out this holiday season please check out the tree across from the circulation desk. There you will find ornaments with items we need or would like for the library, everything from craft supplies to office supplies. We have also set up a Venmo account for those who would like to make a monetary donation instead (cash and check are always welcome too), so we can go pick out the supplies ourselves. Thank you to our library angels for the lovely gifts we have already received, the supplies donated are much appreciated and are helping us better serve our community.
