The Quilting Bees guild met on Nov. 19. Discussion was held regarding the annual Christmas gathering at 6 p.m. on Dec. 3 in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian Church of Larned. The annual gathering will feature wassail, snacks, and a gift exchange.

Discussion was held of a workday piecing a Sunbonnet Sue quilt sometime in the new year. The Fort Larned quilt designed by the Doug Anderson’s fourth grade students 10 years ago and featuring David Clapsaddle’s children’s books, was displayed with the intent of giving it to Fort Larned Elementary School. The quilt was returned after displaying it in various locations around the state.

Show-and-tell participants were: Colleen Wolf, a granddaughter’s quilt; Ann Hicks, mother’s large quilt to be made into bed runners for siblings; Heather Hicks, fall mystery wall hanging featuring the horn of plenty; and Opal Macy, star block.
