Quilting Bees learn about string quilts

LARNED — The Quilting Bees met on Sept. 1 in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian Church of Larned. 

President Ann Hicks displayed an article concerning a big stitch marking needle now available and a book on making string quilts. Announcements included that the first meeting of the month, members may bring fabric, kits, notions or equipment for sale. 

Show and Tell participants were: Becky Obermiller, a challenge project of Maple Leaf and nine patch variation quilt in fall colors; Janell Barton, two Christmas rug mats.

The next regular meeting will be held on Sept. 15 with a program by Mary Weber. For additional information, call the church office, 620-285-6033.
