LARNED — The Quilting Bees met on Sept. 18. Diann Morell, charter member of the group, chaired the meeting.

Announcements included the event “Strolling Through Kinsley” on Sept. 20, and two new blocks of the month with Bossy Sisters at Kinsley. Owner Jeana Padgham presented the two options starting in October: “Nine Patch Variation,” two blocks per month for six months; and a 36 three-inch square block variation, monthly for six months. Interested persons should contact the quilt shop. The members of the guild are constructing many prayer quilts.

Show and Tell participants were: Diane Schultz, a small cosmetic bag made from a placemat designed by the Pioneer Woman; Jeana Padgham, Santa Claus panel made into a quilt; and Mary Weber, prayer quilt for a small child and pillowcases.

The next regular meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the First Presbyterian Church in Larned with Ann Hicks presenting the next block from “She Came from Kansas” quilt book. Interested persons may contact the church at 620-285-6033 for additional information.
