LARNED — The Quilting Bees met on Oct. 6 in the fellowship hall of Larned’s First Presbyterian Church.

Discussion was held concerning the feasibility of having only one meeting a month, ideas for future programs, fundraisers, and classes for smaller quilting items. Mary Weber discussed a program on dyeing fabrics.

The next regular meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Oct. 20 with Merlene Baird presenting the program on making plastic totes. Several quilters elected to learn the technique.

Show and Tell participants were: Becky Obermiller, Christmas table runner top using the new “Kitty Corner” ruler; Alice Clapsaddle, quilted fall wall hanging using the piano key technique for a border; Merlene Baird, three clear plastic tote bags and purses; Mary Weber, 16-inch quilt blocks using the pattern “Peek Into Batiks” with orange, aqua, black and brown fabric.
