The Base Family Reunion was held Sunday June 12, at the Carl Soden Recreation Center here in Great Bend, hosted by Scott Smith.
The early part of the reunion was spent by the family taking a trip down memory lane reminiscing over past family photographs and an old family cookbook that not only contained family favorite recipes but the history of the Base ancestors journey to this country. The rest of the afternoon was spent taking new photos and lots of catching up on family news.
Family members traveled from Kansas City, Mo., Hillsboro, Halstead, Dodge City, Pawnee Rock, North Newton, Barnard, Marion, Garden City, Walton, Howard, Whitewater, Hutchinson, Cimarron and Ellinwood. The oldest family member present was Luelma (Base) Hejny, 99 years old while the youngest was Tayla Bamberger, 4 years old,
