Student Library Assistant Madison Dombroski focuses on Ellinwood High School seniors throughout the year to spotlight in our Check It Out column. Today we have two Senior Spotlights, Matthew Miller and Cameran Rapp.
Matthew Miller’s family members are his mom Sara and dad Matt.
He would recommend the book “The Stand,” by Stephen King. It has great character growth in it, it’s really long and it keeps you hooked the entire time, and it’s just a really good book. His favorite quote is “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step,” by Lao Tzu. He is passionate about Zero Reasons Why because he believes that suicide prevention is really important, especially since he’s had to deal with suicide in his family.
Matthew’s favorite teacher is Ms. Hartman because he thinks she does a good job teaching and she is passionate about what she teaches. He plans to go to Barton for instrumental music and then to Kansas Wesleyan University. After he graduates, he hopes to become a professional musician. We wish Matthew a great year in his senior chapter!
Cameran Rapp’s family members are Branden Rapp, Dana Rapp, Olivia Rapp, and his uncle Shawn Simmons.
He would recommend the book “To Kill a Mockingbird,” because it is a great book about growth and overcoming obstacles. His favorite quote is “The only place to go from failure is to win,” by Tom Platz.
Cameran’s favorite staff member is Mr. Wittenberg because he lets him help with his fantasy football team. His advice for incoming students is to not take their time here for granted; it goes by too fast.
His plan after graduation is to go to basic training in San Diego and become a United States Marine. We wish Cameran a great year in his senior chapter!
