Tom and Nancy Ummel celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 25. 

The couple was married in 1972 at the First Christian Church in Lyons. They have a son, Travis and wife Toby and a daughter Staci and husband Ryan Bownes; four grandchildren, Mikayla (McCoy, Brenna Bownes, Maleigha and Koehn Ribordy; and one great-grandson, Brooks. 

The couple is planning a special all family vacation in August at Broken Bow Lake in Oklahoma.
