Kinzie Elizabeth Manning and Brett Arthur Behrends were united in marriage on Sept. 22, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend in a double ring ceremony officiated by Father Reginald A. Urban. Parents of the couple are Mike and Judy Manning and Stan and Marcy Behrends.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a fit and flare gown by Essense of Australia. The gown was made of rich, dolce satin and featured a slimming ruched bodice, flowing textured soft organza skirt and semi-cathedral train, accentuated with whimsical ruffles throughout. It featured a laced up back. A sequined studded hair piece adorned her hair. She carried a bouquet of eggplant and white calla lilies, accented with lime green cushion mums and viburnum.
Maid of honor was Lexie Manning, sister of the bride, of Shawnee. Bridesmaids were Amy Jo Herrera of Great Bend, Kelli Flax of Topeka, and Jana Windsor of Wichita. They wore cocktail length eggplant colored satin one shoulder dresses, accented by a wide satin ruffle from shoulder to mid-thigh, designed by Alfred Angelo. They carried bouquets of eggplant and white calla lilies.
Best man was Adam Behrends, brother of the groom, of Great Bend. Groomsmen were Cody Behrends, brother of the groom, of Great Bend, Ray Byers of Hoisington, and Logan Farber of Bridgeton, Mo.
Flower girl was Morgan Finkenbinder of Waldo, cousin of the bride. Ring bearer was Kash Scheufler of Wichita, cousin of the bride.
Ushers were Brandon Wells of Great Bend and David Nordman of Albert.
Candle lighters were Kortney Friess of Overland Park and Traci Windsor of Wichita.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Great Bend High School. In 2008, she received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Fort Hays State University. In 2010, she received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology from Colby Community College. She is employed by Surgical Associates of Hays, PA.
The groom is a 2005 graduate of Great Bend High School. In 2010, he received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Personal Finance from Fort Hays State University. In 2011, he received his CPA certification. He is employed as a CPA for Adams, Brown, Beran & Ball Chartered Certified Public Accountants in Hays.
After a honeymoon trip to Costa Rica, the couple resides in Hays.
