Katy Jilek and Matt Hertel were united in marriage on May 20, at the Saint Ambrose of Woodbury Catholic Church in Woodbury, Minn. with Father Tom Walker officiating. Parents of the couple are Michael and Kathleen Jilek of Wausau, Wis. and Gary and Diana Hertel of Great Bend. Grandparents of the groom are Clarence and Doris Tuzicka of Otis.
Maid of honor was Susan Thorsheim, sister of the bride, of Wausau, Wis. Matron of honor was Jennifer Schauer, sister of the bride,, of Madison, Wis. Bridesmaid was Julie Hill of Oshkosh, Wis. Junior bridesmaid was Emily Schauer, niece of bride.
Best man was Darin Hertel, brother of the groom, of Great Bend. Groomsmen were Corey Lessard of Little Canada, Minn. and Nate Crawford of Winthrop, Minn. Junior groomsman was Brandon Jilek, nephew of the bride.
Ushers were Jason Degenhardt, cousin of the groom, of Topeka and Chris Jilek, brother of the bride, of Wausau, Wis.
Flower girls were Kara Jilek, and Erin Schauer, nieces of the bride.
The bride is a 1997 graduate of Wausau West. In 2001 she graduated from the University of Minnesota. She is employed as a dental hygienist in Cottage Grove, Minn.
The groom is a 1994 graduate of Great Bend High School. In 1996, he graduated from Barton Community College and in 1998 from McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, Minn. He is employed as a manager at Music Go Round in Woodbury, Minn, and is a professional musician.
The couple honeymooned in Door County, Wis. They reside in Cottage Grove, Minn.
