Jennifer Sue Parr and Corey Dean Long were united in marriage on May 21 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ellinwood. The double ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Jeffrey Frakes. Parents of the couple are Gary and Cindy Parr, of Great Bend and Kevin and Jamie Miller, of Springfield, Mo. and Donna Long of Ellinwood.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a one-piece strapless, Oleg Cassini, ivory satin A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline and draped bodice. The gown had beaded embroiderment with lace motifs on waist and train. She wore a braided rhinestone headband along with an ivory two layer elbow length veil accented with a beaded embroidered edging. She carried a bouquet of ivory hydrangeas and red roses.
Maid of honor was Jodi Long, sister of the groom, of Ellinwood. Bridesmaids were Kelli Henderson of Great Bend, and Ashlee Meyerhoff of Great Bend. They wore long black satin A-line strapless dresses and carried bouquets of red roses and ivory hydrangeas.
Best man was Derek Schartz of Great Bend. Groomsmen were Phillip Long, brother of the groom, and Travis Kaiser, both of Ellinwood.
Flower girl was Adelynn Parr, niece of the bride, of Kansas City, Mo. Ring bearer was Caden Sieker, cousin of the groom, of Ellinwood.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Great Bend High School. She graduated from Crum’s Beauty College in 2004 as a licensed manicurist. She is employed at Beauty-N-Beyond in Great Bend as a nail specialist.
The groom is a 2003 graduate of Ellinwood High School. He graduated from Southeast Community College in 2006 with a diesel mechanics associates degree. He is employed by Bob’s Oil Service, Inc. in Ellinwood as a winch truck operator.
After a honeymoon trip to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, the couple resides east of Ellinwood.
