Renie Kristi Smth and Todd Alan Puckett were united in marriage on Oct. 9 on the beach in Lucea, Jamaica at the Grand Palladium and Lady Hamilton Resort and Spa. in a double ring ceremony officiated by the Rev. Vincent McKenzie of Montego Bay, Jamaica and the Rev. John Sharp, formerly of Holyrood, currently of Bradlands, Ill. Parents of the couple are Dennis and Margaret Smith of Great Bend and Maxine Pucket of Great Bend and the late Kelly Puckett. Grandparents of the bride are Eula Smith of Sublette and the late Elbert Smith and Neva Bunn-Hite and Alva Hite of Deerfield, Mo. and the late John Bunn. Grandparents of groom are the late Louis and Irene Merhoff and the late Bernie and Mary Puckett
Given away by her father the bride wore a white, long, spaghetti strapped elegant dress with a V-neckline. The bodice was solid with rhinestones that cascaded down the full length of the dress onto the train that sparkled like diamonds in the sunlight. Attached at the waist was a veil-like opaque material that flowed down the length of the back of the dress. In her hair she wore a jeweled tiara and Swarovski crystals. She carried a bouquet of tropical flowers.
Matron of honor was Jami Reed of Great Bend. Bridesmaids were Kathy Covert of South Lyon, Mich., Trish Burmeister of Pittsburg, Angela Stone of Denver, Colo., Christy Smith of Great Bend, and Danielle Smith of Sterling, both sister-in-laws of the bride. They wore strapless metallic sea-foam green short dresses accentuated with a black band at the waist with a bow and rhinestones and carried bouquets of tropical flowers. Their sandals were also accentuated with rhinestones.
Best man was Steve Gooch of Wichita. Groomsmen were Scott Hickman of Wichita, Paul Berg of Phoenix, Ariz. Fred Theriault of Savannah, Ga., Eric Smith of Great Bend and Donovan Smith of Sterling, both brothers of the bride. The groom and groomsmen all wore white linen short-sleeved shirts and khaki linen pants and wore boutonnieres made of white and lavender orchids.
Ring bearer was Ashton Smith of Great Bend, nephew of the bride.
Soloist was Colette Harris of Aberdeenshire, Scotland,
The bride is a graduate of Great Bend High School. She graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Communications. She is a homemaker.
The groom is a graduate of Great Bend High School. He graduated from Kansas State University, with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He is employed as an engineer by Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah, Ga.
The couple reside in Savannah, Ga.
