Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt is providing consumers opportunities this week to fight identity theft by destroying personal documents and conducting consumer education programs throughout the state.
“One of the core missions of our office is to protect Kansas consumers,” Schmidt said. “During National Consumer Protection Week, we are making a special effort to educate consumers on ways they can protect themselves from scams and identity theft – including safe disposal of personal documents.”
Free document destruction services will be available in Great Bend from 10-11:30 a.m. today in the Farmers Bank and Trust parking lot at 1017 Harrison St.
Residents are encouraged to bring personal items to be securely shredded.
