The first meeting of a new group, the Barton County Progressives, will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Burnside Room of the Great Bend Recreation Center, 1214 Stone St. Organized by Christina Stein and Marty Keenan, this meeting’s speaker will be the Rev. Seth Svaty, a pastor from Sterling and brother of Kansas Secretary of Agriculture Josh Svaty. Afterward there will be a 20-minute talk and discussion.
